Fight night
I like to get emotion in a photo. I like it when people laugh at a picture – or react with tears. A sports image works when people don’t have to read the caption. – Bernard Brault
George Foreman III jumped into the professional boxing ring this past weekend and I was there to shoot the event. The fight was short, just a little over a minute. Foreman’s opponent was what is know in the boxing arena as a marshmallow. He folded as soon as virile Foreman started whaling on him. He went down twice and then fight was called.
The short fight was a challenge to get many photos but one is all you really need. The photo posted above is my favorite. You can see the strength in Foreman’s punch and is reminiscent of father, the original George Foreman. By 3am Sunday morning the photo had been picked up all over the world through Associated Press. Needless to say I elated . Booyah!
Below is a selection of all the photos I shot that night. The card has several close matches with two matches with women boxers. I have to say boxing is fun assignment. The Coushatta Resort did a great job. How cool is it that Kinder, Louisiana hosted The Monk’s 1st pro fight. The slide show can be found here on the american press website.

Congratulations, you just earned yourself an entry in my feed reader, great blog.
